Extracurricular
YMCA After School
Through our partnership with the YMCA, we provide quality after school care for all interested students in Kindergarten – 5th Grade. Spots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Some highlights of the program include:
- Integrated curriculum with P.S. 154
- Supper meal each afternoon
- Activities designed to support the social emotional development of children
- S.T.E.M. activities
- Virtual field trips
- At-home virtual classroom offered with additional at-home activities
- 3 hours of in-school care; 2:15 – 5:15 PM, Monday – Friday
Read Alliance
At P.S. 154 we understand that strong foundational reading skills are critical for our young learners. With this program, eligible students in 1st & 2nd grade work 1:1 with a reading tutor 45 minutes a day, Monday-Thursday.
Wolfpack
Comprised of student representatives from every class in 1st-5th grade, the Wolf Pack is our student government. These responsible and creative students come together virtually to plan and organize school-wide events and Spirit Weeks.
GEMs
The Girls Empowerment Movement (GEM) Program was founded in 2018 across District 7 to help young girls in the South Bronx develop self advocacy and empowerment skills. Our 4th & 5th grade GEMs strive to improve the quality of life within their communities, while learning to build their communication and public speaking skills.
Boys to Men
New this year, the Boys to Men Program seeks to bring our young men in District 7 together to build community, self-expression and pride. This program offers some of our boys a safe space to discuss and develop their own understanding of themselves and each other.
Basketball
This year, we are able to offer student try outs for a Boys’ Basketball Team.
